Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

This privacy policy explains how Sarah Bramley Celebrant ("I", "me", "my") collects and uses your personal information when you use this website or enquire about my services. I am a UK based sole trader and the data controller for the information you provide.

Information I Collect

Through the contact form on this website I collect your name, email address, telephone number (if provided), the type of ceremony you are enquiring about and the content of your message. If you go on to book a ceremony, I will also collect the details you share with me for the purpose of writing that ceremony, which may include information about family members and, in the case of funerals, information about a person who has died.

Why I Use It and My Lawful Basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and discuss your ceremony — lawful basis: legitimate interests and steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract.
  • To plan, write and deliver your ceremony — lawful basis: performance of a contract.
  • To keep basic financial records — lawful basis: compliance with a legal obligation.

Some ceremony information may be special category data (for example, health, religious beliefs or sexual orientation). Where that is the case I rely on your explicit consent, given when you share it with me for inclusion in your ceremony.

Sharing Your Information

I do not sell your data. I may share limited details with a funeral director, venue or other supplier where this is necessary to deliver your ceremony, and with service providers who host my website, email and accounting records. Anyone processing data on my behalf is required to keep it secure.

How Long I Keep It

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted within 12 months. Ceremony scripts and related correspondence are kept for up to 6 years, and financial records for 6 years plus the current tax year, as required by HMRC.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights please email sarah@sarahbramleycelebrant.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security and Cookies

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure. Details of the cookies used on this website are set out in my Cookie Policy.
