They were there every single day. They heard things nobody else heard, sat with you through the worst weeks of your life and asked for nothing but your company. Losing them is not a small thing, and you should never be made to feel that it is.
I create gentle, personal ceremonies for much loved pets — at home, in the garden, on a favourite walk, or wherever the two of you were happiest. Your grief is real and your companion deserves a proper goodbye.
Ceremonies can be held before or after cremation, with ashes present or not, and can include children who are meeting loss for the first time. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is too small to mention.
How a Pet Farewell Works
Gentle Rituals
Scattering or burying ashes, planting a tree or rose, a candle lighting, laying down a collar or favourite toy, or a keepsake for each family member to take away.
Support for Children
A ceremony can help a child understand what has happened and say goodbye in their own way — a drawing, a letter, a story read aloud. I'll keep it warm and age appropriate.
